Schell's Bio |
|
| I
graduated with honors from College of DuPage, Wheaton,
Illinois. During this time, I achieved a membership
into the Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society. I also became
a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary Society
at Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois. Throughout my
adult life I have been involved with many charities
and not for profit organizations that include Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania School for the Blind, Jacksonville, Florida
Children’s Hospital, American Red Cross, United
Way, Feed My People, Kindred Spirits, Habitat for Humanity
Resale Store and the Child Advocacy Center to name a
few. I have also been a member of the Kiwanis Club of
Tellico Village. During my time with Kiwanis, I volunteered
my service to the Lenior City School District assisting
in a new program funded by the state of Tennessee as
well as organized the annual fund raising pancake breakfast.
Prior
to my career change, I was a manager at the Curves
Fitness Center for women in Lenoir City, Tennessee.
It was in this position that I was exposed to the
daily challenges and rewards of running a small business.
As the acting manager at that time, the company experienced
steady growth in membership as well as a strong presence
in the community.
Before
moving to Tennessee I worked in the Telecommunications/Data
Industry. My work experiences included sales and customer
service with a Fortune 500 company. During my tenure
with the company, I started as a customer service
agent. My responsibilities included many of the same
tasks I believe are required in real estate transactions:
i.e., dependability, integrity, attention to details,
and developing long term relationships. My dedication
to my customers gave me the opportunity of overseeing
some of the company’s larger accounts. I was
promoted to manager of customer service and pursued
that same excellence but on a grander scale. Eventually,
I went into outside sales and enjoyed a career that
was based on the importance of serving others.
